The American Marketing Association-New York’s 2021 Future of Marketing Survey canvased the marketing technology landscape relative to 2019’s report. Overall, consumers are beginning to accept new marketing technology, but worried about privacy. What caught my eye in the survey was dream-tech, which was opposed by 32% of consumers, supported by 39% with the remainder falling in the don’t know category. FireEye announced the sale of its FireEye Products business to a consortium led by Symphony Technology Group (STG) in July, separating the company’s network, email, endpoint and cloud security products from Mandiant’s software and services. In March, McAfee sold its enterprise security business to STG in a deal worth $4 billion, paving the way for the two to be merged. The two companies now boast a combined customer base of 40,000, about 5,000 employees and almost $2 billion in revenue....

Do they try so very hard to change, yet their old foibles return again and again to annoy and destroy everyone’s mood? Is one of your friends Microsoft? I only wonder because I’m becoming increasingly baffled by Redmond’s behavior in one specific area of its business. It has an excellent product called Edge. Yet it doesn’t advertise it. It doesn’t show customers just how excellent it is. Instead, Microsoft chooses to force it upon them like a cruel school nurse in a 1950s British horror movie....

The Salesforce app for Teams has been available in preview since October. The Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center (MSTIC) kicked off its own investigation into an April 2022 report by security vendor Recorded Future about a “likely Chinese state-sponsored” threat actor targeting the Indian power sector for the past two years. Recorded Future listed over a dozen network indicators of compromise (IOCs) it had observed between late 2021 and Q1 2022 that were used in 38 intrusions against multiple organisations in India’s energy sector....
